Vintage floral fabrics, rope, beads. Pine frame with dowel tension. 30”x40”
Made as a part of a series of work including vintage florals, referencing locations and pathways from where I grew up.
When I was 14 and my sister-in-law was 16, she drove a red Chrysler Sebring convertible. The most classically cool I have ever been is riding in it with her, top down and music up, taking the backroads to the mall. From my parents house you pass fields of broken down barns and corn and beans, tiger lilies and pot holes until suddenly you're on Route 30, in traffic, stores and red lights. Now she drives a minivan full of small fries (and probably dried out french fries) while listening to whatever movie they're watching, and is cooler than ever.
